A new look

A misty morning in the Tyne valley above Corbridge. Photo by Brian Watson, sent into "My Northumbria" on the BBC.

Its long past time Heavenfield had an update. So I’ve picked a new theme that hopefully has a mixed traditional and modern feel to it. This theme will let me take advantage of some of wordpress’ newer features like the menus set up for the pages. The pages have been reorganized to work with cascading menus that should be faster to use and yet takes up less space on the page. The lost kingdoms and early medieval kings pages haven’t left. They are listed under “church & state” with the church history pages. Just run your mouse over the tabs under the title and you will see what I mean.  The background for the header is a highly cropped section from the picture above. I wish I could have got more of this picture in the header but no such luck. I like this header overall but it took quite a while to find a picture that would work.  Let me know what you think of the new look and if your browser has any problems with anything here.

  1. The new design is good. Nice choice of picture for the header. It makes the Tyne valley look ethereal, like an ‘Arthurian’ landscape.
